History

On the 19 th of May 1999, took place in Baia Mare a meeting of natural persons and the founded A.P.A. Asuaju de Jos and A.P.A. Boiu Mare associations. This was the moment of founding The Agricultural Producers Associations Federation A.P.A. TRANSILVANIA from Baia Mare, Maramures County, Romania. Mr. L. Bardoel, a counselor of the Dutch “Mensen in Nood” Foundation, from 1994, joined that meeting.

The Foundation “Mensen in Nood” had financed in 1999 a project of rural development in Asuaju de Jos and Rodina, supporting 7 subprojects as model farms in the agro-economical nuclei.

This was a good example for other village communities to adopt the idea of founding local organizations A.P.A.

Also Mr. H. Hibma from WOM Menaldum, the Netherlands, had a contribution for the rural development in Maramures, Romania, with funds from Wilde Ganzen and NCDO Amsterdam.

The foundations AGRONED and S.S. Rabobanken are supported the establishing of the local associations.
